Carbon fiber materials have extremely high permeability to ionizing radiation such as X-rays and CT. For instance, a 1mm thick carbon fiber plate has an X-ray transmittance of up to 96% and a scattering rate of only 1.8%, which is significantly superior to traditional plywood (63% transmittance) and aluminum plates (78% transmittance). This feature enables doctors to obtain clear images during radiotherapy or imaging examinations without increasing the radiation dose, reducing the radiation exposure risk for both patients and medical staff, and extending the service life of the equipment. In an MRI environment, the non-metallic properties of carbon fibers prevent the interference of metal artifacts, ensuring imaging accuracy.
